Craig and Amanda Keesing delight in presenting you with a selection of photographic images we have taken over the last 35 years.

The hereNOW website came about to celebrate our shared passion for both photography as a medium and the natural and cultural diversity of this tiny planet. The Galleries showcase a small but growing representation of our large and varied collection.

Amanda works in the environment field and Craig in culture and the arts. In between these commitments new images will be loaded regularly to the Web Galleries.

Our primary motivation is to share our images for others to enjoy, however if you did want to purchase an image, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would also love to receive your valued feedback.

We hope you enjoy your visit to hereNOW and subsequent visits in the future.

It is impossible to ignore the beauty that our environmental and cultural diversity offers forth. Personally, in nature I try to capture the vastness and drama, but sometimes just making a record of an instant is enough. I often have a conversation in my head while capturing an image:- “As a subject, I am worthy of a photo because… “. My conversation can include a narrative, subtext, emotion or justification for existence, or simply a big dollop of fun. Ah… but then there may just be that light, a reflection, a shadow, a pattern or a colour. More

In 2004 a generous gift from my father made it possible for me to purchase my first digital SLR camera. The digital era opened up my creative photography – I could finally afford to experiment and take all sorts of photographs.

Over the years I have become increasingly fascinated with macro photography and use my close-up lens to capture the texture and patterns that abound in nature. I love to use natural light and take unstaged photographs in-situ. I am always looking for the right light, but the wind is an all too regular challenge, compromising the depth of field of my close-up subjects.

Although I am particularly interested in macro photography, I would call myself an “Eclectic Photographer”… you will see from my galleries that I take photographs of just about anything.

I am not interested in post capture manipulation… I would rather be out taking more photos!
